The pretty town centre of Ellesmere is just moments away from Philoxenia Mews, You can find everything you need and more with great selection of shops, cafés, pubs, great delicatessen and bakery. Of course as a market town there is always something happening at the Market Hall, with local farm produce, arts & crafts market.
Just a stroll out of the town centre and you will find the The Mere Ellesmere, a natural wild bird habitat and beautiful walks through the woodlands or visit the Oteley Estate Farm which you will see on the opposite side of the water.
This truly is a year-round destination. In summer you can take advantage of our beautiful courtyard which provides visitors with an idyllic spot to enjoy a drink amongst the pretty flowers and lush foliage.
During winter months, pull on those walking boot for a muddy romp exploring the footpaths, or prop up the bar and get to know the friendly locals.
Spend your days exploring the picturesque county of Shropshire and its wonderful nearby towns and villages before tucking into a fantastic dinner back at our Greek restaurant Meze, then just a wander up the garden with a glass of something to your cottage.
The area surrounding Ellesmere is rich in stunning scenery, offering outdoor adventures with many walking, cycling, and fishing opportunities nearby. Why not take a day trip into Snowdonia or visit Shrewsbury, where there’s a variety of things to do making it a great day out. Shrewsbury is full of finds to be discovered by foot or by boat; the River Severn is a must, as is the café culture, the castle, the old market hall featuring local artists and lovely shops and eateries.
